Manipal is well connected by road, rail and air. Udupi and Mangalore serve as the closest entry points to Manipal. Udupi is 5 Kms (a 10min drive) and Mangalore is about 66 Kms, from Manipal (a one and a half hour drive). There are buses every 15 minutes from these places to Manipal.

Bus Routes:
North Zone- Mumbai, Pune
South Zone- Bangalore, Mysore, Coorg, Chennai, Ernakulam Bangalore.

Rail Routes:
The nearest stations are that of Udupi, both of which lie on the Konkan route.
Direct trains to Mangalore are available from Chennai, Bangalore, Vellore, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Cochin, Hyderabad and even Jammu.
Direct trains to Udupi are available from Delhi and Jaipur.
From Kolkata, the train route is to Mangalore, via Chennai.
