Dr Ramdas Pai
Dr Ramdas PaiDr. Ramdas M Pai is the President and Chancellor of Manipal University (MU). He has been at the helm of the Manipal network of Educational and Healthcare institutions for over three decades. Dr Pai is also the Pro Chancellor of the Sikkim-Manipal University of Health, Medical & Technological Sciences, Gangtok, Sikkim and a member of the Executive Council of Assam University.

At the national level, Dr. Ramdas M.Pai has held responsibilities in important organizations like the Medical Council of India and the Dental council of India. He was a member of the Core Group constituted by the Govt. of India to report on the new initiatives on higher education.  

Dr Pai was presented the Key to the City of Loma Linda, USA and selected as the National Professor of General Practice / Family Medicine in 1992 by IMA College of General Practitioners. He was awarded the Dr. B.C.Roy National Award for Community Health Work presented by the President of India in 1993 in addition to the intellectuals honor namely 'The Great Son of the Soil' award by All India Conference of Intellectuals in 1997. He has been awarded the Honorary Doctorate by Milwaukee School of Engineering, Andrews University and the Honorary Professor of International Health by the University of Minnesota.    

Dr Ramdas Pai is a medical graduate of Karnataka University and a postgraduate in Hospital Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. 

Dr Pai has greatly supported MMSC by providing us with all the necessary infrastructure and encouraging us to go ahead with the event. Without this, the Convention would not have been possible

Dr M V Kamath
Dr M V KamathA noted journalist, editor, author and presently the Chairman of Prasar Bharati Corporation, Dr. M V Kamath is the Honorary Director of Manipal Institute of Communication. He was correspondent of the Press Trust of India at the United Nations and European correspondent for The Times of India. He served as editor of The Free Press Bulletin, The Illustrated Weekly of India and the Sunday edition of The Times of India. He has written 36 books on subjects including politics, history, biography, fiction and journalism. His books on journalism are prescribed as textbooks in many Universities in India. He has received many civic and professional awards. He has been recently honoured with a Doctorate degree by the Mangalore University. 

‘The Media Council’ is a dream of this veteran journalist. The Media Council is to be a national body fostering the confluence of various mainstream media. It was this idea which provided the impetus for MMSC, which will act as the foundation for the Media Council.  

Dr Buroshiva Dasgupta
Dr Buroshiva DasguptaDr Buroshiva Dasgupta has been a practising journalist for over 25 years writing on a variety of issues in different capacities in The Statesman, Times of India and Indian Express Groups. Simultaneously he has engaged himself in teaching Media as a visiting faculty at Calcutta, Jadavpur and Viswa Bharati Universities for over a decade. He has also taught media at Asmara University, Eritrea in east Africa. He is currently the Director of Manipal Institute of Communication. 
 
He has represented India at several international conferences in the US, UK, Singapore and other global destinations. He has participated in several BBC programmes. He has been awarded PhD by Calcutta University for his research work on ‘New Media and New Poetics: the Changing Interface’. His special interest lies in Film Studies and Wildlife. 
 
His translations of Ritwik Ghatak and others have been published by Sahitya Academi and National Book Trust. He has also co-authored  two  books  'Natural Wonders of India and Nepal' and ‘Natural Wonders of Asia’ both published  by Struk New Holland Publishers, UK/Johannesburg. 

Dr Dasgupta has given us his complete support at the college level, for going forward with the Convention. He has helped us at every step we took, and we are deeply thankful to him.
